$250 Award
The purpose of the TAPP scholarship is to encourage students seeking careers in education and to recognize their commitment and achievements related to this goal. We encourage students to apply for the TAPP scholarship although this award can only be received once.Scholarship Criteria:· Planning a future career as an educator in any field.· Currently enrolled at SAC and plan to enroll next semester at SAC.· 2.0 minimum GPA.· Have not already received a college degree.· Earned 12 or more hours (including developmental classes) at SAC or any other college.Application Packet:· Complete application form.· Two letters of recommendation: one from a teacher and one from someone familiar with your community and/or campus service or work experience.Application packet must be complete and delivered in one package in order to be considered for the scholarship by the DEADLINE: Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at noon.Please pick up an application from Mary Anne Bernal in Gonzales Hall 209-B, or send us an e-mail to tappatsac@gmail.com and we will e-mail you an application.
We are in need of people who can commit to the responsibilities of working with the faculty sponsors in planning activities such as meetings, fundraisers, special projects. We do request that those who agree to become officers will uphold their obligations as best they can. Your sponsors and fellow TAPP members will work with you when circumstances warrant it. We'd like you to send us an e-mail affirming your interest in as of the officers positions currently open: Historian, Treasurer, Executive Officer Assistant. Please feel free to nominate yourself or a fellow TAPP member. If you nominate yourself, please tell us a little about yourself: your goals for the club, your volunteer experience (no matter what it be), why you'd like to be an officer, and also as much as you would like to tell us about your own interests: education plans, work experience, family life, favorite activities.You might want to consider TAPP's mission when you tell us about your club plans: TAPP is committed to promoting careers in education, providing information on transfers and financial assistance, carrying out relevant educational experiences from club fundraising to raising public awareness of education programs, and participating in meaningful community projects. TAPP will be having a meeting Mon. Jan. 25 at 11am and at 1pm in GH 131B to write a proposal to participate in the 2010 Alamo Colleges Young Leaders Conference Sat. Feb. 27 at Palo Alto College from 8am-2pm. Bring your ideas! This is a great opportunity for all TAPP members. TAPP needs volunteers for the Rodeo Round UP held on Campus Wed. Feb. 10 from 8:00am -3:00 pm. Help us sell sodas and water. We need special help from 8-9am and from 2-3pm to set up our booth. Thank you!!!The Service Learning Fair is also Wed. Feb. 10 from 8:30 am- 12:30 pm in the GYM. Help us promote our club by sharing TAPP opportunities and information with other students.
