Scholarship
$250 Award
The purpose of the TAPP scholarship is to encourage students seeking careers in education and to recognize their commitment and achievements related to this goal. We encourage students to apply for the TAPP scholarship although this award can only be received once.
Scholarship Criteria:
· Planning a future career as an educator in any field.
· Currently enrolled at SAC and plan to enroll next semester at SAC.
· 2.0 minimum GPA.
· Have not already received a college degree.
· Earned 12 or more hours (including developmental classes) at SAC or any other college.
Application Packet:
· Complete application form.
· Two letters of recommendation: one from a teacher and one from someone familiar with your community and/or campus service or work experience.
Application packet must be complete and delivered in one package in order to be considered for the scholarship by the DEADLINE
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at noon.
Pick up an application from Mary Anne Bernal in Gonzales Hall 209-B, the English Department in Gonzales Hall 123, or send us an e-mail to tappatsac@gmail.com and we will e-mail you an application.

SOCCER GAME!!
Attention TAPP members:
We have been challenged by the S.A.E.P Club to play soccer against them! We need a whole lot of people to represent TAPP! Come out Saturday October 17, 2009 at San Pedro Park by the parking lot at 6:30pm. We need all you soccer players out here because this opponent is fierce! Our colors are blue and black! Blue shirts and black shorts! Well have a great time out here guys and well show SAEP who TAPP is! Come out even if its just a short time!

Speaker Series fall 09
Speaker SeriesTAPP invites you to a special presentation by Dr. Ellen Marshall Ph.D. in Educational Human Resource Development, with an emphasis in early childhood education. Listen to her speak about her 25 years at SAC and her teaching journey around the globe. October 28th in the Craft Room on the 2nd floor of the Loftin Student Center from 1:30 pm-3:00 pm. TAPP will be selling Sodas Wednesday, October 21 from 8:00 am-2:00pm.
Please send us an e-mail if you can volunteer one hour of your day.
If you can not help out during Octoberfest you can donate a pack of sodas for us

Chalk it UP!
Chalk it UP is Saturday, October 10. TAPP will be attending from 12:30-3:30pm. Please read the volunteer pdf attached to this email and let us know if you want to join us. Free parking for volunteers is available at the St.Mary’s St. Garage at 400 N. St. Mary’s (corner of Travis & St. Mary’s streets). Just one block North of Hotel Valencia. Walk on St Mary's to left (south), then take right (west) to sign in.

Don’t forget: bring your parking ticket to CIU Headquarters for validation. ALL volunteers will sign a Volunteer Agreement, Waiver, and Release Form. Volunteer check-in is located at CIU Headquarters, Hotel Valencia (150 E. Houston St.).At the end of your shift, please return to CIU Headquartersto turn in your name badge and sign out.

TAPP Greens Gonzales Hall
As part of the Go Green initiative at SAC, TAPP has responsibility for the first floor of Gonzales Hall. Look for the new toters to arrive in the halls, after the compactor is delivered in two weeks. Next week on the 8th, Josey and I have the opportunity as monitors to tour the Greenstar facility (off 410 east) that will be recycling SAC waste. If anyone needs more info on the program, comment here and I will find an answer. - Matt
